GEFONT President Condemn the Industrial Enterprise Act which is against the Workers Rights

Speaking in the Dashain Greeting Exchange Programme organised by the GEFONT Province No. 3 Committee in Kathmandu, GEFONT President Bishnu Rimal condemned the Industrial Enterprise Act and Special Economy Act, endorsed by the Parliament on 29 September 2016. The Act enforced the provision of 'No Work, No Pay' and 'Hire & Fire'. He said "it has snatched the workers rights to organise the strike against injustice, which is against the Constitution of Nepal and International Laws."

President Rimal further said that "TU's will jointly initiate to stop the verification of Industrial Enterprise Act by the President Bidya Devi Bhandari." "We will lobby to stop the implementation of Act but if forcefully implemented, we will protest against it and will file case in ILO and other International Forums" He added.

Meanwhile, GEFONT President Rimal also informed about Oct 7 World Day for Decent Work Programme that GEFONT going to organise grandly next day. He further briefed that GEFONT is going to distribute Pamphlets throughout the Country including 29 Centers in Capital Kathmandu. Pamphlet asked 11 Questions "What do you do to make your work Decent?".  Pamphlets will be also send  to all Members of Parliament to intervene in policy making body.

Likewise, GEFONT Province No. 3 Committee, Coordinator,  Janak Chaudhary briefed about the  GEFONT Campaign on Oct 7 -World Day for Decent Work and extend the Festival greetings.

On the Occasion, NATU Kathmadu District Committee handed over 25 thousand to GEFONT President for Solidarity Fund.
