NIHWU celebrated its 40th founding day

Kathmandu, Nepal Independent Hotel, Casino and Restaurant Workers Union (NIHWU) has celebrated its 40th founding day on November 28 by organizing a program at Maxim Banquet, Lalitpur.
 
The chief guest of the program, Cde. Bidur Karki, Vice President of the GEFONT, said that the problems faced by the hotel, restaurant and casino sector due to Covid 19 have put the employment of millions of workers at risk.He said employers were firing workers under various pretexts, adding that the failure to implement the previous agreement
with HAN and REWAN by December 2020 is a big challenge.



He suggested that after 2021 Janauary Union should move ahead after discussing with the stakeholders.he also added that there would be full support from the GEFONT.



On the occasion, NIHWU president Cde.  Surya Bahadur Kunwar said” we are compelled to celebrate the founding day in a different way due to the epidemic of Covid 19. So that the best trade union award distribution program could not be held like  previous years.

He also said that the Hotels restaurants were closed due to Covid 19. He further said the agreements made with the concern parties during this period should be continued.

Cde. Ranju Thapa, financial secretary of the union, informed that opinions and suggestions have also been collected by conducting an informal meeting of the central committee.
