April 03- Organising the Gathering on April 02 in Kathmandu, Bank, Finance & Cooperatives Sector employees union has been launched as the new affiliate of GEFONT. On the Occasion, 15 members Adhoc Union Committee was declared under the presidency of Narayan Adhikari and Divya Raj Sapkota as General Secretary.
Newly formed Committee Members have taken oath from Acting President Hari Datt Joshi. Speaking in the Program, He extended best wishes to strengthen the new union organising more workers in finance sector and suggested to grab the opportunity to contribute in Trade Union Movement.
Likewise, Vice President Bidur Karki extended the greetings to the new formed union and said that the union can play important role to solve the problems of Bank, Finance & Cooperatives Sector workers.
During the Program Pradip Bhattarai representing National Trading Enterprise Level Union, handover Rs. 25 thousands to Chief Guest Bishnu Rimal for GEFONT Solidarity Fund. Speaking in the Program, Secretary General Bishnu Lamsal said that GEFONT has established Solidarity Fund to support workers during immense health problem. Targeted 10 Millions Fund has been collected in solidarity Fund & GEFONT is going to implement it soon.
Before announcing the Union Committee, draft Statute of Union was presented by Deputy Secretary General Janak Chaudhary and it was amended according to the Participants recommendations.
Around 100 Representatives throughout the Country attended the Gathering. Earlier 5 thousand signatures has been collected to form the union.
