Kathmandu, NEST has conducted awareness tranning on contribution based social and organization strenthen tranning for self-employed workers in all provinces.
In the first phase training program has conducted in six Provinces; No. 1 and province no 2, Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Far-Western Province.
Each training was conducted for three days. During the training, Presidnet Cde. Kumar Sapkota and General Secretary Cde. Raj Kumar Shrestha facilitated the sessions in Lumbini, Karnali and Far Western Provinces on behalf of NEST's Secretariat
Likewise, Vice President Cde. Janardan Parajuli, Deputy General Secretary Cde. Kamala Dahal Gautam and Secretary Cde. Kamala Acharya facilitated in Province No. 1, Province No. 2 and Gandaki Province. On behalf of GEFONT, Province Presidents imparted training on the structure of GEFONT.
In the first phase, on behalf of the local government with the participation of mayors and deputy mayors has also inviteded to get the views of the municipalities on the management of self-employed workers in the program.
During the campaign, Mr. Surendra Bista, Mayor of Bhimdatta Municipality, Far-Western Region, expressed his commitment to manage the issues of self-employed workers of the municipality during his tenure. He also informed that infrastruture process is ongoing to manage 200 self imployed workers and municipality has also alocated Rs. 20 million budget.
Mayor of Pathari Shanischare Municipality under Province No. 1 Mr. Dilip Kumar Rai, Mayor of Tanahu Beas Municipality under Gandaki Province Mr. Vaikuntha Neupane and Deputy Chief of Birendranagar Municipality Ms. Mohan Maya Dhakal expressed their commitment to manage self-employed workers issues.
Similarly, the Second Phase, NEST has organized union management and contribution based social security awareness training program has been completed from 20-23 January in Kathmandu.
The training conducted under the Presidency of Cde. Kumar Sapkota and Cde. Bidur Karki, Vice President of GEFONT addressed the program as a chief guest.
On the occasion, Chief Guest Karki imparted basic knowledge on union manegment and GEFONT National Committee member Cde. Smriti Lama imparted training on contribution-based social security scheme for self-employed workers.
Total 49 NEST members has participated in the three-day training program. Cde. Raj Kumar Shrestha, General Secretary of NEST. informed that the training program conducted in the all seven provinces has given a new impetus to the organization strenthen.
