GEFONT has organized a discussion program on book women in Nepali politics written by head of GEFONT Trade Union policy Dr. Binda Pandey on 31 May 2019 in Kathmandu.
During the discussion on the book, the minister of Foreign affairs Pradip Gyawali said that women should participate in the decision making. He further said "Men should not feel challenge when the woman moves forward". Due to the traditional thinking of the society, it is more difficult for women to compete but constitution & laws of the Nepal has made lot of arrangements of women rights. Minister Gyawali further said that Dr. Binda's book is the combine of the history of Nepalese politics.
On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Bidya Nath Koirala Said that the book has critical analyzed political thought of Women issue in the world and how it affected in the situation of women in Nepal.
In the program, Prof. Dr. Bindu Pokharel said that the book of Dr. Pandey has given importance that the change in the social, political concepts, physical diversity doesn't make any difference in work.
Similarly, Member of Parliament Dr. Bimala Paudel said that the book has highlighted that women involvement, role & contribution in Politics since Praja Parisad till today.
Likewise, during the discussion Dr. Rajesh Ahiraj said "book has described the socio cultural aspect & governance". He further added that the book has not only pointed out the problems but also revealed the solution.
The program was held under the presidency of GEFONT president Cde. Binod Shrestha . Meanwhile, writer Pandey thanked to all who had contributed during the discussion she also shared the process of book writing & informed that the Nepali version of the book with release soon.
