Training for Nepali workers on Kuwait's labor law

Kathmandu, Kuwait Trade Union Federation (KTUF) has organized a training program on Kuwaiti labor law for Nepali migrant workers working in Kuwait on 9 November 2020.

During the training session, Advocate Mr. Khalid Al Suraman, Representative of the Law Department of the Government of Kuwait, spoke on the rights and responsibilities of migrant workers.The training program was presided by the Secretary General of the Kuwait Trade Union Federation, Mr. Mohammed Al Arda.

During the program various issues like; Migrant workers salaries, contracts, annual sick leave, maternity leave, overtime, accident compensation and employment change have been discussed.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rewant Bahadur KC, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Nepal in Kuwait, said that the Kuwait Trade Union Federation has organized a useful program for Nepali workers. He also thanked the organizers for organizing such a program.

Likewise, Cde. Ganesh Rawat, Coordinator of GEFONT Support Group Kuwait, informed that the Kuwait Trade Union Federation and GEFONT Support Group have been working to protect Nepali Migrant Workers  rights. He has Thanked to the Kuwait Trade Union Federation on behalf of the GEFONT support group.
