June 20 – 6th Central committee meeting of GEFONT affiliate Nepal Independent Hotel, Casino & Restaurant Workers' Union (NIHWU) has demanded government to pass social security schemes and new labour Act from Legislature Parliament of Nepal and implement immediately.
The meeting demands, to implement the minimum wages declared by Government in all enterprises,100% service charge should provide the workers, casino should develop as decent occupation .
On the occasion,GEFONT Secretary General informed GEFONT policies and programme adopted by GEFONT 86th meeting . The meeting also nominated Cde.Tika Kumari Thapa as Secretary of NIHWU women department and Cde. Krishna Prasad Nepal and Cde. Ranju Thapa as NIHWU central committee members
