GEFONT Extends Solidarity in the movement of health workers and staff of Manmohan Hospital

GEFONT has expressed solidarity with the movement of health workers and staff working at the Manmohan Memorial Community Hospital in Kathmandu.Employees have been protesting in the premises of the office of Nepal Health Care Cooperative Ltd (NEHCO) since January 23 after the hospital management failed to implement the agreement.


 
A gathering held at the protest site on January 26, GEFONT Vice President and Bagmati province In-Charge Cde. Jitendra Shrestha demanded immediate implementation of the agreement done between the managment of Manmohan Memorial Community Hospital and health workers and staff earler.

Vice-Presidnet Cde. Shrestha said that the health workers working in the hospital opened in the name of Manmohan Adhikari, the founding leader of Nepal's trade union movement, where worekers were not paid for their work for years and the agreements reached between the managers and workers were not implemented is insult of the Late leader  Adhikari.

He has warned the management not to consider the peaceful movement of the workers as a weakness who are legally fighting for their rights and said that GEFONT will always be with the legitimate workers' movement.



Leaders including GEFONT National Committee member and Deputy Secretary General of CUPEC Nepal Cde. Smriti Lama, President of Nepal Health Workers and Employees Union Cde. Chandra Thapa expressed solidarity with the movement.
