​Hand out the workers a letter of the appointment and Identity card.

The General Federation of Nepalese Trade Union’s (GEFONT) inaugural convention in Birendranagar ended on May 28 in Surkhet. A nine-member municipal committee had been elected under the chairmanship of Bal Bahadur Soti Magar at the convention.
The convention’s chief guest, GEFONT-Karnali Pradesh President, Tej Prakash GC, stated the significance of workers' solidarity in all sectors to address underlying issues.
He demanded that workers be given appointments letter, identity cards, and minimum pay as well as be enrolled in contribution-based social security funds and effective execution of a labor inspection system, adding that businesses must have rigorously adhered to the policy regulation set forth in the constitution and labor act.
Chandra Dhami, a member of the GEFONT Central Women’s Committee, wished the convention a success and announced that she will take action to address the issue of female workers in local government.

The leaders of the GEFONT associated unions wished the municipal convention a success. In the convention, the demand has been made to include a planning program with a concrete budget for labor administration, labor education, and decent work in the FY 2079/80 policy and program.
Kalpana Sharma, Secretay Bharat Kumar Pant, Joint-Secretary Nanda Somai, and members Navin Gauli, Rohan Sunar, Bhumisara Bahraghare, Ramesh Bista, and Kalpana Kharel were unanimously elected as Vice chairmen of the committee, said Budha from Surkhet.
