Migrant Workers Fair RecruitmentWorkshop Concludes

Aiming to develop monitoring system of the Migrant recruitment agency an international program- Two days workshop on fair recruitment of migrant workers jointly organized by International Trade Union Confederation(ITUC) and FES in Kathmandu  has been concluded. Representatives of  Trade unions form  Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Nepal  had participated and shared the views in the program.

As a conclusion, all unions agreed to establish a webportal containing the migration reladed data, legal and other information governing to workers will be contain in the website including workers can evaluate the recruitment agency as well.

On the meeting Mr. Jeroen from ITUC, Human Trade Union Right department, highlighted the objective of  the programme and possible support from ITUC. Mr. Ramesh Badal, Secretary of Department of Foreign Affair  of GEFONT  presented the country situation with different aspect of fair recruitment condition of Nepal.  Similarly, Ms Niyama Rai from ILO Nepal office presented on  the issue of ILO Fair recruitment initiative .
In the opening, JTUCC President Mr Khilanath Dahal, FES Chief Dr. Dev Raj Dahal highlighted the need of monitoring of recruitment agencies.
