April 18 - GEFONT affiliate The Union of Trekking Travels Rafting Workers Nepal (UNITRAV) has remembered one of the very elite of mountain climbers Dorje Khatri organizing a programme in Kathmandu .Speakers of the programme highlighted gentle and determined leader Dorje’s contribution in Trade union movement.
Speaking as a chief guest Cde. Bishnu Lamsal said, The trade union world in Nepal lost a leader with long standing experience who was known for his hard work and commitment. Due to his courageous work , he was able to spread out the name of UNITRAV all over the world . We also remember him for his courage in hoisting workers flags at the top the highest peak in the world Mt. Everest. Due to his courageous work,ITUC has established the award in his name .We should work jointly to make mountain climbing more secure. GEFONT will lobby with Government to manage necessary instrument to make this journey more secure.
