Kathmandu, GEFONT Affiliate CUPPEC third congress delegates meeting has been concluded in Gaighat, Udaypur on 12-13 Dec 2019.
Representatives of CUPPEC Nepal from sixty districts and thousands of workers gathered at Gaighat, Udaipur. Thousands of workers rally around the Triyuga Bajar.
The inaugural ceremony, presided by CUPPEC delegate’s council head Cde. Manohari Shivakoti and GEFONT President Cde. Binod Shrestha addressed the program as a chief guest.
The meeting has decided to organize an organization strengthening and membership campaign, organize national gathering of women and youth.
Similarly, Meeting has decided to hold district conventions and municipal conferences. Increase the membership of the CUPPEC Relief Fund. The meeting also has decided to submit a nationwide memorandum on 24 January 2020 by demanding to enroll construction workers in contribution-based Social Security.
Likewise, the meeting also decided to launch a trade union education and training programs to develop leadership and members and to create awareness on Contribution based social security scheme among construction workers.
Earlier inaugurating a program, GEFONT President Cde. Binod Shrestha has emphasized the effective implementation of social security program. He said other problems of workers would be resolved automatically after the effective implementation of social security program.
He has stressed on the need for strengthening the organization and expanding the membership to raise the issue of workers effectively. He said that CUPPEC Nepal is a strong union of GEFONT and its programs and activities can influence every program of GEFONT also.
During the inaugural session, Vice President of GEFONT, Cde. Deepak Poudel, Chief of Triyuga Municipality, Cde. Baldeb Chaudhary, in-charge of CPN-Udaipur and on behalf of GEFONT affiliates vice-president of WHIN Cde. Manoj Magar, extended best wishes of the success of the meeting.
Likewise, President of CUPPEC Nepal Cde. Narnath Luitel present on current issues & its future plans. He also informed about the programs and achievements so far passed by the 6th convention of CUPPEC Nepal.
After the inaugural session Cde. Gopal Karki, present the evaluation report of the two years. Secretary Cde. Rajendra Bista presented financial report & policy for next two year. And CUPPEC president Cde. Naranath Luitel has presented plan and program for the next two years.
Significant decisions were made by dividing the sub-group and reports were presented. Summarizing the suggestions from the groups and incorporating the positive suggestions from the participants in the report. Reports have been passed with important decision.
CUPPEC Vice President Cde. Shanta Basnet, thanked the Udaipur District Committee for grand arrangement of the meeting and the guests for valuable views.
