NIFBWU wins election

June 01 - GEFONT affiliate- Nepal Independent Food & Beverage Workers' Union (NIFBWU) has won the election held in Sushil  Banaspati Ghee industry, Parmanipur, Parsa on18 May, 2012.

Likewise, Nepal Independent Food & Beverage Workers'Union (NIFBWU) has also won the election in Ganapati Banaspati Ghee industry in Simara, Bara on May 30.

Nepal Independent Food & Beverage Workers' Union (NIFBWU) is the Union of the workers employed on the Food and Beverage Industries for producing, refining, storing and distributing the food and beverages across the country. Under the GEFONT campaign of Line-industry Federation amongst the trade unions organised within NIWU, the workers of the enterprises related to food and beverages were invited in the first national convention on 26th October, 1997 in order to establish Nepal Independent Food and Beverages Workers' Union. As the 12th member of GEFONT, the Union has been registered at Labour Department in No. 42 on 2nd December, 1997.
