NIHWU First Congress Delegates Council Meeting concludes

April 11 - Nepal Independent Hotel, Casino & Restaurant Workers' Union (NIHWU) First Congress Delegates Council Meeting has been concluded in Kathmandu.

The meeting was Presided by Cde.Bishnu Lamsal, Chief of NIHWU Congress Delegates Council.

In the Meeting, as a chief guest Cde. Bishnu Rimal, President of GEFONT analysed the present political situation of Nepal and highlighted Trade Union campaign on Social Security and working class inclusion.

"Nepal is now in Constitution making process. In this stage, the priorities issue of the Nepali Trade Unions is to incorporate the labour rights including social security in new constitution and ensure the workers representation in every structure of the state as well." said President Cde. Bishnu Rimal.

In the meeting, Cde.Umesh Upadhyaya Secretary General of GEFONT, Cde.Binda Pandey Member of GEFONT Central Planning Commission also address the meeting. In the meeting the Evaluation and Financial report of the NIHWU was presented for discussion and conclusion.

First Congress Delegates Council Meeting has adopted special resolutions including organisational and financial report of the Union.

The Congress Delegates' Council meets once in two years, this was the first after the National Conference.
