NEST submits Memorandum with signatures of 55370 Street Vendors

March 29 -  GEFONT affiliate Nepal Street Vendors Union (NEST) submitted the Memorandum to state Minister Ghanashyam Yadav, Ministry of Local Development with the signature of 55370 Street Vendors against the suppression of Local Government.

NEST also submitted the 8-pointcharter of demands to the  state Minister.The demands include:

•Protection of Street Vendors
•stop the abuses against Street Vendors
•secure alternative place to run their business within Municipality Area.
•Registration of Street Vendors & Issue the identity card
•Social security for Street Vendors.

NEST had submitted demand letter to the Metropolitan Office, Sub-Metropolitan Office, and office of Municipalities throughout the country. The Local Government  did not show any positive response towards the demands of Street Venders and started to suppress the Street Vendors. Against this inhuman activities of the Local Government, NEST  submitted the Memorandum to state Minister Ghanashyam Yadav, Ministry of Local Development on March 29 ,2012.
