July 25 –"Dear Nepali people, we failed to give you a new constitution. We could not protect the Constituent Assembly, the main achievement of the last 75 years of Nepal's democratic movement, a dream institution of us and the art gallery expected to draw the future map of Nepal. I do not know how painful it has been for others; to me, it has been the most painful moment of my life. As an elected representative of you, I join my hands and beg your pardon for failing you. Dear voters, please forgive us!"
Carrying with this touchy apology in the cover article contributed by Ex-minister and immediate past member of CA of CPN-UML Pradeep Gyawali GEFONT has published its annual report entitled Trade Union Rights 2012.
“We have been able to achieve somehow in our mission to social secuirty for all workers but have not been able to protect the rights of the workers by establishing social security fund. Our demand to ratify the ILO Convention No.87 is still in the agenda. We will continue our fight until the Convention is ratified and broguht into implementation.”
GEFONT President Bishnu Rimal quoted in the report as saying- the state should respond to the workers demand to ensure at least 10% workers’ representation in every elected bodies of the state.
The report has briefed on the Picket line action with successful stories such as satisfactory compensation won by the workers Himal Power Limited, one of the Ventures of the foreign direct investment.

The report has given sufficient space on the country report launching programme of ITUC, Growing Green and Decent jobs.
The report has highlighted the case related to victims Nepali Migrant workers and Courts verdicts in favour of Migrant workers.
Report has briefed about MoU signed between GEFONT and other trade unions to address the plight of Nepali Migrant workers.
