GEFONT Urges to maintain Caste/Ethnic Harmony

May 22 - GEFONT has condemned attacks on press and ordinary people by activists of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) during the strike called by NEFIN on 20-22 May, 2012.

"The attacks on press and people during the strike called by NEFIN has drawn the serious attention of GEFONT and appeals to respect the fundamental rights of the press and people" the communiqué reads.

The communiqué further reads "We request NEFIN and its affiliates to go on democratic practice stopping these kinds of unfair and violent activities.  In order maintain Caste/Ethnic harmony, we urge all political parties to ensure identity and rights of all by bringing the constitution in time."
